Rental Terms & Conditions

Last updated July 18, 2026

These terms govern every rental from Finesse Collections, a rental line of Finesse Decor Company (“we”, “us”, the “Company”). “You” means the person or organization named on the order, together with their guests, agents, planners, and contractors. By submitting an order request, paying a booking retainer, or taking delivery of rental items, you agree to these terms in full. No variation is effective unless we agree to it in writing.

1. Reservations & payment

An order is reserved only once we have confirmed availability and received the booking retainer of 50% of the order total. The retainer is non-refundable — it holds inventory exclusively for your date and is earned when paid.

The remaining balance, together with any refundable security deposit, is due 14 days before your event date. Orders placed inside that window are payable in full at booking. We may cancel and release any order whose balance remains unpaid after its due date, with the retainer retained.

Invoices are issued and payable through our online invoicing (major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay) or by e-transfer, cheque, or cash as arranged. Amounts are in Canadian dollars and subject to applicable GST/PST.

2. Changes & cancellation

You may adjust items on an order until 14 days before your event, subject to availability. Adjustments cannot reduce the order total below the amount of the non-refundable retainer.

Cancellation at any time forfeits the retainer. Cancellation within 14 days of the event forfeits the full contract amount. The refundable security deposit is always returned on cancellation.

3. Security deposit

Where a refundable security deposit is charged, it is held against loss, damage, excess cleaning, and late return, and is refunded after our post-event inspection (normally within 72 hours of return), less any amounts owing under these terms.

4. Delivery, placement & pickup

Quoted delivery and pickup charges assume ground-level access on a firm, level surface within 25 feet of the vehicle, free of stairs and obstructions, within our standard service window. Waiting beyond 15 minutes, stairs or elevators, precise-time requests, rush changes, after-hours or statutory-holiday work, or inaccurate site information may incur additional labour charges at our prevailing hourly rate, billed after the event.

A responsible person must be present for delivery and pickup. Items must be gathered and stacked for pickup in the manner they were delivered; additional labour otherwise applies. Set-up and styling services are available and quoted separately.

5. Client pickup & return

Where you collect items yourself, you are responsible for them from the moment they leave our facility until returned, including safe loading, securing, transport, and unloading. Vehicles must be suitable and enclosed; we may decline release to an unsuitable vehicle without refund.

6. Care of the collection

Our pieces are curated and maintained to a high standard. To avoid damage charges:

  • Place furniture on firm, level, dry surfaces only; indoor pieces must not sit outdoors uncovered or get wet.
  • No standing on furniture; no affixing, pinning, stapling, or taping anything without written consent.
  • No open flame against or near items; candles only in enclosed containers; no applied heat.
  • No smoking on or near rental items.
  • Linens are returned dry and free of debris — never bagged wet.

7. Loss & damage

You are responsible for rental items from delivery or pickup until we regain possession, including loss, theft, fire, weather, and damage from any cause. We assess condition within 72 hours of return.

A valid credit card must be saved on file (securely, with our payment processor) before delivery or pickup. You authorize us to charge amounts owing under these terms — including damage, loss, excess cleaning, late return, and additional labour — to that card, after written notice with an itemized statement.

Repairable damage is charged at repair cost plus a 15% administration fee. Lost, stolen, or irreparable items are charged at full replacement value in addition to the rental fee. Replacement values are available on request for any item. Excess cleaning beyond normal use is charged at our prevailing rate.

8. Late return

The rental period is stated on your order. Items kept beyond it incur continued rental charges at the daily rate until returned, in addition to costs of recovery.

9. Site conditions, measurement & compliance

Measuring the venue and confirming access, fit, and suitability are your responsibility. If items cannot be delivered, placed, or used because of site conditions or inaccurate measurements, full payment remains due. You are responsible for providing any venue rules in advance and for all permits, and for any fines arising from undisclosed site regulations. We give no warranty that items are fit for a particular purpose.

10. Liability, assumption of risk & indemnity

You acknowledge that the use of rental items carries inherent risk of injury or property damage and you assume that risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release the Company, its owners, and staff from, and agree to indemnify and hold them harmless against, all claims, damages, liabilities, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from the delivery, possession, use, or return of rental items, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence. We are not liable for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, nor for loss of or damage to your own property.

11. Ownership & repossession

Rental items remain our property at all times. Rentals are not transferable to another person or address. If these terms are breached, you authorize us to retake possession of our items without notice, wherever they are located, and you agree to pay all costs of recovery and enforcement, including reasonable legal fees.

12. General

We may substitute an unavailable item with one of equal or greater quality on notice to you. Quotes are valid for 15 days and availability is not guaranteed until reserved with a retainer. Where third-party services are arranged for your convenience, those services are that provider's responsibility. Complaints must be raised in writing during the rental period. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada; the courts of British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction.
